At The Bramble Academy, we use the Kapow Art and Design teaching resources to support our curriculum. The content is sequenced to ensure children build upon skills from previous year groups while preparing them for what comes next. Our curriculum provides all our children with opportunities to practice and develop skills and techniques that build up to a final piece. Throughout their time at Bramble, children will develop the following knowledge and skills:

• Generating ideas and using sketchbooks, taking inspiration from a range of artists
• Making skills: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, craft techniques and sculpture
• Formal elements: colour, form, line, pattern, shape, texture and tone
• Knowledge of artists' work and techniques
• Evaluating: critiquing their own work and that of others
